I delivered my second child 8 weeks ago and started my period 10 days ago. At my 6 week check up, my ob/gyn advised me to start taking my birth control pills right away, without waiting to start my period. He said this would help "jump start my period." I started my period in my second week of taking the pills and it isn't going away. Like I said, it has already been 10 days and it isn't letting up. I am completely confused now as to if my pills are even going to be effective because I am supposed to start my period NEXT week, the week of the placebo pills. Has anyone else had this experience? Does anyone have any advise or suggestions?

oh my god i am in the exact same boat as you right down to the exact timing of the pills. i had my second child 8 weeks ago as well and yes my period is not letting up either, it seems quite strong actually. i cant remember if this happened with my first child, but that time i waited for my period to come before starting the pills. i guess we just have to ride this out....it must be normal.
