Mom had hemotoma following hip fracture surgery. Two years later she has swelling and fluid retention in the area of the surgical incision. With a ultra sound guided procedure the site was drained twice. Each time the fluid was clear and the got around 8 oz. The pocket is again filling up with fluid. The doctors don't want to drain again because of the chance of infection with the procedure. Any ideas? Mom is 85 years and immobile. Thanks so much for any advice.
