| I have these also on the upper lip. My dermatologist zapped everyone of them, but they keep coming back. Kind of painful getting it done too. |

| I didn't have any luck using chapstick, but I am using accutane for acne and it got rid of the fordyce spots on my lips and genitals. |

|
|
My problem started about seven months ago, it has drove me crazy!! I used the blistex when my lips first started. They started off chapped, I used the blistex. The following morning I woke up to swollen lips!! I looked like someone had punched me in the mouth. I'm like you guys..I've used everything and then some. I think that it's a defiency in vitamin A and B that causes the problem.
The things that I've found that help keep my lips somewhat normal are liquid aloe vera, multi vitamin, and organic cod liver oil before bed. My upper lip gets wrinkled if I don't do these things. Does anyone else get that wrinkled upper lip where the spots are?
I haven't had any swelling since the first time I noticed them....knock on wood..lol.
I went to two different doctors and one told me I had dermititis and the other said herpes. It took me searching until I found a picture of someone elses lips. I found that going to a health food store really helped!! |

I think i may have found a solution to make them almost disappear by about 90 % although it only work for individual spots or a 2-3 cluster patch at most.
Basically i just used the tip of red hot needle to burn the suckers. It's almost painless and right now it gave me pretty decent results for the 4 spots i tested. No they are not gone but they are now very faint , almost invisible , and it improved the appearance by a lot. It's a bit like a more hardcore version of the vineagar method mentionned in this thread except that it's much much less annoying to do. There are no signs of scarring whatsoever.
It wouldn't surprise me if they came back like they used to at some point since i didn't remove them completely (the problem lies in removing the base of the spot which is easier said than done and is probably impossible do do without scarring with a needle) but so far so good . If they do come back ill just pay for the C02 laser and be done with it.
I can"t guarantee that it will work for you but it somehow did for me. Also note that i'm not responsible if anything goes wrong. Try at your own risks. |

The fordyce spots appeared about a month or two ago on my upper lip, as well as other breakouts of acne around my vermillion border. The Blistex Lip Medex works, if you're really consistent with it. However, I did run across the problem of swelling lips when waking up in the morning, after applying it during the night. After awhile, my lips became really sensitive and sore, but I guess that was from too much lip licking because of that cooling feeling from the Lip Medex, which then caused windburn. To counter/soothe that, I used Eucerin's Aquaphor "healing ointment" during the day. It's almost like regular petroleum jelly, but I guess with some added medication stuff.
After about a week or two, and with constant face washing with any facial wash with salicylic acid, the spots disappeared. So nowadays, I just carry around that tub of Lip Medex and the Aquaphor with me whenever my lips start to dry up. |

I recently went to a wedding where I was a bridesmaid and the makeup artist used blistex lip conditioner underneath the lipstick and told me that it is the best stuff to make lipstick last. So I went home and bought myself some for $5 and I have been using it religiously since the end of June (more on before I go to bed) and bit by bit I have noticed that the spots on my lip are disappearing. I had like a really hard ridge of clusters and I am sooo happy that they are going and I am going to have gorgeous lips again. I would love someone else to give it a go and tell me whether it is just a fluke or that it really works.
I don't know about using Blistex on genitalia though, it might burn. |
Icredible, but blistex really makes fordyce disappear. For me it took 2 weeks, but it works!
Thanks a lot
