hi, im almost 16 and am becoming increasingly worried about my foreskin. I can retract it when flaccid and almost when erect. I havn't tried to retract my forskin fully as im scared it may hurt. Is this a serious problem? can i sort it out myself as i dont want to go to the doctor.

Thanks

Hi, it doesnt sound to bad, as you said that you can almost pull it completely back when erect.

Yes at your age bit embarassing to go to the Doctor, it is quite a normal problem believe it or not. Try getting some sort of lubricant and putting it under the foreskin and masturbating daily for around one month, this might loosen it up more, if this doesnt, go to the chemist/pharmacist and ask for a cortosone cream, like sigmacort , and do the same , for the same amount of time. but first try with just lubricant . Might hurt a little to begin with, but will get better

hey there, your foreskin contains a certain cord, that usualy breaks at an early age.. maybe yours never broke , especially if you arent circumsized, if you are circumsized they mayve your cord never broke, which this would lead you to need to have an operation to correct the problem... the cord could acualy break during intercourse which would realy hurt.. have a doc check it out, i cant realy say unless i see it, and thats not happening obviously.. goodluck

The "cord" is called the fenum or frenulum. It's the "web" or "string" on the bottom, which runs from the base of the pee slit and backwards up the bottom of the foreskin. It can tear during rough sex, when the foreskin gets stretched backward (retracted) hard. But this can be a good thing because it makes it easier to keep the foreskin retracted and clean.

Other hydrocortisone creams that are common are Betamethasone and Neosporin.
