Hi! Doctor told me that I have osteoporosis. So, he prescribed me fosomax. But, I have kidney stone. My friend told me that I can’t use fosomax if I had kidney stone? Doctor who prescribed me fosomax doesn’t know for my kidney disease. Can use fosomax? What do I need to tell to my doctor?

Hi! Do not take a fosomax tablet if you cannot sit upright or stand for at least 30 minutes. Fosomax can cause serious problems in the stomach or esophagus. You will need to stay upright for at least 30 minutes after taking this medication. Before using fosomax, tell your doctor if you have: low blood calcium, a vitamin D deficiency, kidney disease, an ulcer in your stomach or esophagus. I f you have any of these conditions, you may not be able to use fosomax, or you may need a dosage adjustment or special tests during treatment. Don’t use fosomax before tell your doctor about kidney disease.
