I'd wish I don't have to ask this, but since my kid is in a lot of trouble I will try to help as much as I can. My son has galactosemia and we have already started with the therapy, hopefully there will be no consequences. Anyway, are there any support groups for us parents and our kid, when he is a bit older?
You can be certain there are many options when it comes to helping people that suffer from this condition and for those around them. Galactosemia really can be a severe problem, with complications that might lead to damaging several functions in the body (I will mention speech, bone density, ovarian function etc). Without support groups, long-term dealing with this condition would be very difficult.
