gallstones versus polyps, is it hard to tell them apart with an ultrasound?

I recently was diagnosed with polyps, but was wondering if they could actually be stones (which I could try flushing). I dont want to go through the flushing process if the polyps will not move since they are attached to the lining of the gallbladder.

I thought I read somewhere that an untrasound does not provide clear proof of polyps vs. stones but can really only detect that some type of mass is present. Does anyone have any advice on this subject. The largest "polyp" measures 4mm.
