What is index for glaucoma? My grandmother went one day to check her eyes and doctor discovered that she suffers from glaucoma. How is it possible that she didn’t notice symptoms or changer in her eyesight? What does glaucoma procedure includes? I think she is going to need operation. She lives with us and I don’t know how to help her.

Unfortunately, glaucoma rarely has any symptoms or index until advanced stages are reached. Patients must be examined by an ophthalmologist before a diagnosis can be made. The glaucoma procedures are various as the types of glaucoma: glaucoma filtration procedure, glaucoma drainage device, laser peripheral iridotomy, argon laser trbeculoplasty and ophotocoagulation. I am sorry for you grandma I can only tell you some types of glaucoma procedures but for details you have to talk with her ophthalmologist.
