My son suffers from granulomatous disease. My ex-wife, his mother also has this condition. I have found out about it recently. I have heard that it is inherited disease. I know a little about it. My son is going on the therapy now. Can you tell me what is it about?

It is hereditary disease. It influences the cells of the immune system so they have difficulty to form superoxide radical that is used to kill certain pathogens. People with this disease often suffer from: pneumonia, abscesses of the skin, tissues and organs, bacteremia etc. Treatment your son is taking probably includes the antibiotics that will stop the infection of developing.
