if you take the pill on the first day of your period you are protected from then on because the hormones in the pill prevents an egg from being released (the hormones in the pill trick your body into thinking that you are already pregnant and so no more eggs are needed, see?). if you take the pill upto 5 days after you begin your period (which is quite unheard of as your gp will direct you to start the pack at the beginning of your cycle) then you aren't protected. you will get accurate results from a pregnancy test if you are on the pill so if you're worried check it out.

on the subject of pre-cum - it contains very little sperm.

yet, as all responsible adults will tell you: use a condom. yadda, yadda, yadda.
