|
|
Hello all,
The pressure in the head, irregular heart beat, shortness of breath at times, dizzyness at times, inability to concentrate, poor memory...these are all symptoms of anxiety. I searched for a physical cause for these symptoms for a long time before it was correctly diagnosed as anxiety. Most MD's don't diagnose it properly. Anxiety and stress can physically manifest itself in many sometimes seemingly strange ways in your body.
There is a wealth of information about it on the internet...choose reputable sites. Most treatment involves stress reduction, therapy and sometimes medications such as Paxil.
Good luck, the first step is getting it diagnosed properly. |

| My brother-in-law has Meniere's Disease, and many of the same symptoms. Ringing in the ears and pressure exacerbated by alcohol and salty food. He also has a lot of allergies, but I don't know if that's related to the Meniere's Disease. |

Maxkxx-I have had the same exact pressure in my head for over a year. My Mri showed white matter lesions. I also have back pain, extreme confusion at times, anxiety, and ringing in the ears. I would definately get some blood work done, this could be caused by a disorder or condition in any of your organ systems. I get by blood work back on 3/03, and if I can help you in any way, I will. Hang in their, I know it gets exhausting
With love -skeyes01 |

| I have the same symptoms, i.e. extreme pressure in my head that makes me feel lke I am going mad and makes concentrating on anything extremely difficult. It's not migraine, which I've also had numerous times, and is not 'painful' but otherwise like 'cramp' of the brain. I've suffered from this at regular intervals for many years and have not yet found a solution other than to try to sleep it off and wait for it to go away. I have told doctors, but I don't think they actually understand what I mean. It's debilitating and extremely frustrating. I wish it would be taken seriously by the medical profession! |

| I have ringing in the ears and lots of head pressure. It all started after a bout with pneumonia. I thought it would go away so I haven't had it checked. This morning when I woke up my face was bloated and still is a bit (7pm). Don't understand but am not going to get it checked out. |

The symptoms being described--sensitivity to carbs, white coated tongue--are indicative of a yeast infection, but it may not be that simple. You have to question whether the yeast infection is related to any underlying disease.
People with hypothyroidism often develop yeast infections and ringing in the ears, so there's a possible explanation. Hypothyroidism also causes bloating.
Also, those who have the autoimmune disease Sjogren's get yeast infections in the mouth. Sjogren's, and a form of hypothyroidism called Hashimoto's Thyroiditis, often go hand in hand. Sjogren's is generally detected because the patient has dry mouth and eyes.
Long term use of anitbiotics is another way yeast infections develop (the anitibiotics kill everything--even the good bacteria that keep you from getting the infection). Taking probiotics or eating yogurt with live cultures while you're taking the antibiotics can help that, too.
I would encourage you to look into hypothyroidism if you are lethargic and have joint pain, constipation and a low body temp. Folks with hypothyroidism usually sleep more than the general population.
Good luck! |

I too have had a broad spectrum of symptoms over the past four months. i was positive there was a physical reason for these very real, very painful symptoms yet after seeing many physicians everything was normal. My husband had just finished chemo and radiation and I didn't realize just how stressed I was. I am returning to my physician for additional info on how to destress and yes I do intend to ask for antianxiety meds. I have valium but I need to switch b/c I have had it for so long and have not taken it through the day. I read that it was difficult to go off of some drugs but sometimes you just have to admit and
come to terms with the fact that for some in order to have a better quality of life you may need to be on meds for the rest of your life. Right now I have such loud ringing and pressure in my ears I would gladly agree to be on something that would give me some relief. I can't work feeling like this and it is making me depressed. I need to move on and get back to the land of the living. These symptoms is your body's way of telling you
that you are stressed. I know this is not true for all. It's best to always check with your physician. Most people have a cluster of symptoms and a combination of problems. Again stress is a downward spiral that only makes things worse. Good luck, pray for me! |

Has anyone found any answers? |
Have you checked with a knowledgable dentist to make sure you don't have TMJ (temporomandibular joint syndrome). TMJ can mimic many illnesses and cause symptoms ranging from headaches to neck pain to ringing in the ears. |

I get pressure and a swooshing in my head as well. It happens alot when I'm done using the computer or the telephone. I do have high BP, but otherwise feel fine. No headaches. Its kinda scary so I'll go to the dr. Its been happening a lot lately, weird.
Also, when I lay on my stomach, I get pressure and ringing in the head. This has been happening since I was a kid. |

| I have had the same symptoms for 7 months now. Intense pressure in my head, frequent headaches, pain in my eyes, blurred vision, vomiting, dizziness, pain in my ears, ringing and swooshing in my ears. I have been to many doctors. I have also had some problems with my chest. I have been to the ER several times thinking I was having a heart attack. I have had CT's with contrast and I just had an MRI with and without contrast. I am still waiting on the results. I am scheduled to see a neurologist next month. My family doctor thinks I have a Pseudotumor Cerebri. Everybody with these symptoms might want to google it. It explains all of my symptoms. The good thing is the only risk is blindness if left untreated. It is NOT a brain tumor, it is an excess of cerebral fluid in your bain. It usually effects women between 20-45 that are overweight or have recently gain weight. I have my daughter and put on about 40 lbs and that is when all of my problems started. It does effect men and children as well. I refuse to believe that this is anxiety. There was no stress in my life until this happened. It actually woke me up in the middle of the night, I felt like my brain was vibrating. |
