My boyfriend started taking cocaine last month and it seems to me that he is already hooked up to it. So far, we have only use weed and ecstasy on a couple of occasions, but this is something I am not thrilled getting involved with. He looks fine for now, but I am still worried for him. I would like to know a bit more on the health problems linked to cocaine use.

The first and most important issue is heart problems, especially heart attacks and artery obstruction (increased level of CRP, hormone associated with inflammation). One study showed that almost 45 of examined cocaine users have increased CRP level. They had coronary calcification more expressed then those users with normal CRP. So, this is just one symptom, there are many other that could get really complicated. So, make him understand the seriousness of his actions.
