i cant belive some one else has the same problems, the food stuck in throat sensation, shortage of breath ,fluttering feeling in upper stomach area after eating, the missing heart beats and light headed but thinking your going to die. i also (especialy when alone ) get the incredible panicky feeling something terrible is about to happen. when it first happened i checked into the emergency department of a hospital but they couldn't find anything wrong. after reading this i feel like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders, i am not alone |

I have exactly the same symptoms for about 2 years.First i was diagnosed for Gastritis. After i finished with the medical treatment the symptoms as irregular and fast heartbeat were still present. And always after eat felt my stomach very full even i eat very less food.Lot of air was built in the stomach making pressure on the stomach walls, followed with movement.About 7 months ago i made GI exam something like X-Ray and they found that my stomach has been moved from its original position. Now is in horizontal upper position near to the heart. The doctor said that is not a problem even is making a pressure after eat to the heart.I sugested them a operation but they denieded.Visited a lot of doctors till today and still no results.Keep feeling bad after eating, heart get faster, anxiety and blury vision are present.Still searching for Doc who can help. |

I am in your boat! Have had the tests, blood, EKG, nuclear stress etc. Am having endoscopy this week. I am 38 yrs old and male. Have had same symptoms for years off and on. Lexapro seems to help the big picture for me. It is what it is; and finding nothing specific to say "this is it" I guess I will need to live with the generalized diagnosis and the generalized treatment. Anxiety definately makes this 10x worse. I also take Toporol for blood pressure and zanex as needed (both low doses). I sure wish a real doctor would see all this info from so many and finally take time to help us out. Seems like there has been a ton of wasted money just taking shots at what it could be. Does anyone take Ambien by chance? I have also been taking this for sleep for over 3 yrs now? And they say it is not addictive. Wondering if this is something that is a connection for any of us or the contributing cause.
Good luck to all of you! |

| I have had various spasms in my body before, which seem to migrate around. In the past, I've had spasms in my eyelid or in the large muscle beside my thumb. I have always wondered what it was caused by, but assumed some sort of chemical buildup in my muscles, or anxiety. It is very strange. I have never had a spasm in my stomach though...until today! It's driving me nuts! I can't concentrate because like the other examples, I have spasms just under my sternum. I also seem to be experiencing the irregular heart palpitations (which has happened before on its own, which I'm not really too worried about). I don't experience any pain, just curiousity. Is my brain subconsciously causing it or is it toxins in my bloodstream? Usually, my spasms last in one area of my body for just a few hours but so far this stomach spasming has been on and off all day. |

I'm really glad to have found this topic. I have only been suffering these symptoms for 3 days and decided to go to A&E today. Tightening of the stomach as if it was a contraction, heart racing, feeling dizzy and wanting to just lay on the floor where ever i was, terrible sweating. I told the doctor my symptoms and he pressed around my belly for a bit then used his stethoscope to listen and said that he heard alot of movement in my stomach. I had a lot of accumulated gas. He also asked me if i was more nervous or stressed now than usual, which i am. So i have 2 answers to my problem. STRESS and ACCUMULATED GAS. He has given me some tablets to stop the spasms which will hopefully stop the pain that they cause.
I hope you all find some kind of solution or at least an answer....... |

Wow this is amazing I too am suffering from the same thing. With me it’s been going on for about 3 years now and have had upper GI and lower GI exam, stress test, sleep apnea test, 3 endoscopy’s , EKG, have warn the heart monitor for 24 and 48 hours. Taken nexium, have slept with my head upright at night because doctors thought it could be caused by acid reflux. I use to smoke but gave that up a long time ago. Now into fitness and thought I was over doing it by working out at least 4 times a week. Have a drink every now and then and thought the alcohol was causing it. Every test I passed with flying colors, I thought the doctors felt like I was a little strange because I was getting so frustrated because no one could figure this out and felt like I was on my own. I started loosing weight; I felt that maybe if I could get my weight down to when I was in my 20’s maybe I would stop feeling this. I also noticed that this is at its worst after I eat, feels like the food gets stuck in my esophagus and felt the spasms were coming from there as well. Also thought that the part of the stomach that open and closes was opening and closing at the wrong time. I also notice that when these spasms occur if I check my pulse it feels that my heart stops for a mil of a second and then continues. I was then told it maybe palpations and am now taking atennol “beta blocker” for blood pressure and to slow down the heart.
With everyone here that is experiencing this you would think doctors would look more into this. But because the test past they feel there is nothing wrong.
I will not be satisfied until I find out what the heck this is.
If anybody finds out please post this so we can all be cured.
Thanks
A very frustrated person that having bad thought s about doctors.
Don’t want to that’s just how I feel. Art |
