help! having brown discharge and haven't had period yet

I'm 15 and i haven't had my period yet. I get discharge on a daily basis. Yesterday i noticed that i had brownish discharge. this is the first time it has happened. anyone know what's going on?? Question

Having white, mucous discharge for a few months is a good sign that your first menstrual period is approaching. No one can really tell when exactly this is going to happen.
The brownish discharge you are experiencing could be actually your first period or the announcement of your first period as well.
First few periods are always light and may consist just of a brown, sticky spots, which is also just an announcement for the real thing.

In the next couple of years, your periods will get more regular but you can still notice variations in the amount of blood you shed during each cycle.

Girls usually get their first menses 1 to 2 years after their breasts had developed. You shouldn’t be comparing yourself with your friends and their periods because every girl is different and some may get it sooner, some later.

It is also ok if you get your first period and then you don’t get another one for a couple of months or if you lose more blood in one period than another. Your menstrual cycle will regulate within a year or so.

The only thing that wouldn’t be considered normal is bleeding for too long, like a few weeks or if you didn’t get your period for about 6 months. In that case, you should consult a gynecologist.
