help urgent lump in daughters neck

my daughter has a lump on her neck the left side by her shoulder, she went to the doctor today and they said she had broken a bone in her shoulder, and since then it has healed and grown a extra joint. They also said they she may have been born wtih a birthdefect that has given her a extra bone on both sides of her neck or shoulder. This is the bone that had been broken and now has started to heal itself. When she first noticed it and told the doctor it was just growing pains. So I am feeling pretty dumb about the whole thing right now. She has complaind about blackouts and migrains for a long time. No one seems to take her serious so what will it take?
