Hi. I have a 4 months old baby boy. I need some help with breastfeeding. How do I know when it`s time for breastfeeding? How will I know if my baby is feeding well or not? Is there anything else I should know about breastfeeding?

Hi. I breastfeed my baby whenever she is hungry (every 2-3 hours). And she is hungry a lot, especially in the evening. There are many signs showing you your baby is feeding well. First, you have to hear a short swallowing sound. Baby`s jaw muscles and your areola must move evenly as she sucks. Breastfeeding shouldn`t be painful. If you hear a lot of lip smacking and if you notice there is very little swallowing, your baby isn`t feeding well. My nipples are sore and I leave them exposed to the air to dry naturally. Sometimes I use lanolin.
