The use of the rubber bands in the treatment of hemorrhoids is currently the most widely accepted treatment due to its low cost, practicality and effectiveness. This treatment does not enquire anesthesia and easy to perform and very rarely causes serious problems. The side effects exist but are seldom occurring. These are severe pain that does not respond to the methods of the pain relief used after this procedure. The band may be too close to the area in the anal canal that contains pain sensors. Bleeding from the anus might happen, as well as inability to pass urine and the infection of the anal area.
The rubber band ligation is considered to be the most effective non-surgical treatment for internal hemorrhoids and because the treatment could be painful, some people might not choose it, but you should remember that it is more effective!
