herpes? blister? coldsore?

A couple of days ago I noticed a small spot like lump on my pubic ares, under my pubic hair not actually on my bits themselves, I burst it by accident and its turned into an open sore with a wet scab ontop and has not started to heal over the past few days. It is uncomfortable when I clean myself in the shower but apart from that it causes no discomfort. I have no discharge or any other symptoms.

I was also checked out at my gum clinic a year or so ago when I got together with my present (only) partner and had a clear slate, I have mentioned it to him (who was also given the clear) and he has no symptoms or anything.

He did have an oral infection recently, could this have been passed on?
