My best friend suffers from this virus called herpes zoster. She says she has a rash with blisters all over her face and that she is in such pain. The problem is that she wouldn’t let me come and see her, keep her company and stuff. Can you tell me if herpes zoster is contagious? Thank you in advance!

Herpes zoster, also known as shingles, is caused by the same virus responsible for chicken pox. It is not contagious, as it occurs only when the virus in a person's body becomes active. So, if you come in contact with your friend, you won’t get shingles. However, if you haven’t received the varicella vaccine and have never had chicken pox, then you could get it now.
