Hello. I'm 44 year old worried mother and I would like to find out more about one specific aspect of heath. I have strong reasons to believe that my son has developed some hormonal problems.
You see, he is 24 year old but still didn’t develop any common male characteristics such as rough voice or body hear. I'm sorry to say but I must mention that he still don’t shave his beard. Can you believe this? Anyway, he refuses to talk with any doctor over this and I'm afraid about him. Could it be that he’s suffering from some hormonal imbalance? How these imbalances are usually cured? Can someone tell me more about this?

Hello. I'm very sorry about your son although I'm thinking that you are making too big fuss about all this. There are many young boys that get these male characteristics later in life and there is nothing wrong about them. What you described could easily be one hormonal imbalance called testosterone deficiency. What's most important about this condition? It can be remedied with special nutritional supplements along with increased muscle-building exercise. Some supplemental hormones including DHEA, and natural testosterone could also very helpful. But before all this- you must contact some endocrinologist and do some hormone testing. Then, after the right diagnosis is set- you can choose appropriate treatment!
