how are ear & throat infections related?

My baby is very fussy. All the time she keeps hers fingers in her ears and cry. She also has trouble sleeping. I even think that she has fever. Recently she had same throat infection, virus related. Can this be result of that? Should I take her to a doctor? Thanks in advance.

Your daughter is probably having an ear infection caused by previous throat infection. This condition is usually connected with a smallness of tube that connects your ear to your throat. Tube is often blocked in young children, because it is smaller. It is necessary to take her to a doctor. If you don't, her eardrum can burst. This is not serious but it can delay healing.
