|
|
| hi, i just started on a new brand of BCPs after being off them for about a month. i started my pack on Aug 10 and my boyfriend is coming into town on the 19th through the 22nd. i was wondering if that was long enough for he and i to be able to have unprotected sex and him ejaculate inside me without us worrying about an unplanned pregnancy. ive read that i can wait a week after starting BCPs, and ive also read to wait a month, and i really want to be sure. please hurry! i really miss my bf and i really dont want to have to use a condom! thanks! |

Hi there,
It all depends on what type of BCP you are now using. Are they low dose or the normal BCP? Most traditional forms of birth control should be in your system for at least three weeks for complete protection. Your birth control package should also explain how they work in the directions. If you still feel uncomfortable call your local clinic or doctor who prescribed your BCP, or local family planning clinic and they should be able to tell you exactly.
Or the two of you can use a condom just to be on the safe side. |

NO, VERY UNTRUE..
AS PILL PACKS SAY.. IF you start them on your period you are protected immediately, any other time, and you need back-up for 7 full days..
I am a healthcare pro, and work for planned aprenthood =) I promise, I do know.. |

Me and my boyfriend have been using condoms all the times that weve had sex. And I recently went on birth control. I really want to do it without the condom.
So all I have to do is be taking the birth control correctly for 7 days, and I should be fine?

Hi
I'm paranoid about becoming pregnant. One day I want to have children, but not now. I've been on the pill since September. Never missed a day. I keep insisting that my boyfriend use condoms because I'm afraid that the pill is not effective enough. He doensn't understand and now it's putting a strain on our relationship.
How crazy am I ....am I really that protected on the pill?
thanks |
