husband didnt heal after bypass

my husband had bypass surgery about a year ago...his chest bones or his ribs if u want to say never healed..never fused together...you can hear them hit eachother when he moves...so a then he went back for surgery to fix it and it happend again..then another surgery....it happend again...they just wont heal...why is that and what can we do...we live in newyork city area and we are desperate...u can hear them kncoking again and also a wire is stabbing him ffom the inside out and the docs just give him pain meds and they are not sure what to do....help.......[/b]

Are his blood sugars in control? To heal properly they should be close to normal limits.
I would think that if your husband can breath fairly normally, the sternum has healed. It may not be aligned properly, thus you are hearing a click(annoying but not always life threatening). This usually doesnt need to be fixed as long as the person can breath.
Redo sternotomies are risky. The wire can be removed usually through the skin as an outpatient.
