That is true instructions recommend tampon usage even to virgins. I think this is individual, because not each girl is the same. Me, for example, I had terrible problems when I wanted to make my hymen ruptured on purpose finally in my 23rd year. I guess it was not stretch enough so it hurts me a lot. I have some friends that were not even bleeding when they ruptured their hymen. That is why my opinion is that you should feel your body, so stop use tampons if that hurts you. Although they said, you could put it in, maybe your hymen is too closed for this action. You probably know there must be opening for your menstrual blood, but maybe yours is too tight. You could try it once again, and try it from different angles. If it still hurts, leave it and use pads as you did always. I am sure you can wait until you rupture your hymen right way, with person that you love, and not with tampon.
