My son is everything I have in this world. After my husband and daughter death in a car accident I am always concerned about him, and his health. Maybe too much. He went to a doctor and they have found that he has hypolipoproteinemia. They say that he has to go to some more testing. Tell me what is it? Is it dangerous?

My brother has hypolipoproteinemia. The disorder itself is not dangerous. It is the low level of lipids in the blood. Although it can rarely cause the problems it indicates that there is some other disorder present. Disorders like overactive thyroid gland, undernutrition, cancer or impaired absorption of food from the digestive tract (malabsorption). That is why they need to do some more testing.
