How do you know for sure that you're gay?

I mean, if you don't want to be gay, I don't think you "are" gay. It sounds somewhat confusing, but it's not so hard to get.

I'm straight, and if I didn't want to be straight, I wouldn't be straight.

If you think that you're gay . . . then you may be. Which is cool. Or, you may not be. Which is also cool.

It's just a natural imperative one way or the other (or, somewhere in-between), really. Not a problem, except for the reality that some people in your society may harbour oddly fearful views of gay nature - for reasons which really can't be rationalized. It's mostly an entrenched tradition of hysterical emotional reactions. But, it shouldn't have an affect on accepting who you are, one way or the other, over time. Your own health and well-being matters more than weird biases.

Consider attending a local gay/straight alliance group, where non-pressuring support and (likely) similar stories from other folks will be shared to consider. It's not a dating situation, just one to help people figure out what these feelings might mean to them and others.

Or, just read more about it on the internet, from various points of view.

Hopefully you can speak with family, assuming they'll be understanding and supportive of wanting you to feel comfortable with yourself - again, regardless of whether you are straight, gay, etc. They should love and care about you unconditionally, of course.

Be well.

It doesn't work like that. If somebody denies their sexual orientation (whatever it might be), it doesn't mean they aren't it; usually people who never come to terms with who they are end up hurting in the end because they are forever fighting with themselves.

It is easy for heterosexuals (straight people Razz) to say if they didn't want to be straight, they wouldn't be. Of course they say that: they are accepted in society for who they are. But do straight people honestly wake up one day and say they want to be straight? No way! We are brought up in a society where we are taught that we are already straight. (e.g. Cinderella ends up falling for her Prince... etc)

Anyway, you are only 14: you have plenty of time to discover who you are. Some people feel having sex will help them determine what their sexuality is. Wrong. Sexuality is not just about who you sleep with, but also who you feel you can romantically be with in the end.

Everybody at one point or another in their lives questions who they are, especially in their teen years. You may find that you like boys now, but later down the line you only have a deep attraction for females. Just give it time.

Im 14 and im petrified that im gay.i dont want to be gay.so i know from that now that even if i was gay,i wouldnt have gay sex because i dont agree with it.therefore if you hate being gay.its almost certain youre not,and in that extremly unlikely event that you are, dont have gay sex.
