it could be down to food

or could be due to a malaena - which is blood from higher up in the digestive tract and appears black as it has been digested.

keep an eye on it and if it happens again go and see you doctor.

Are you taking any vitamin supplements? If you are - check how much iron it has, as iron is a sure cause for dark/black stool.
