i have been bleeding for 4-5 months

dear dr. HELP i got the contraceptive pill shot (depro vera) and about a week into it i started bleeding (heavy) and havnt stopped and that was bout 4 to 5 months ago??? how can i stop it should i see my docter again cos last time she said wait untill the shot finishes and it will stop! but hasnt?? does any one know if i can fall pregnant while this is happening?
please does any one have any advice???

You are at a risk for pregnancy.

Why this is happening to you... You and I have the same problem with the hormone in depo. It thins the uterine lining out so much that it causes us to have a constant bleeding pattern, while most women will lose their period alltogether.

REGULAR birth control pills are often given to stop the bleeding. Definately see your doc =)
