i stopped taking birth control after we had sex. does that mean i'm pregnant?

i took birth control when my boyfriend and i first had sex, but i finished my last active pill the day after. he didn't ejaculate inside when we had sex, but could i still be pregnant? i had my withdrawal period a little less than a week after we had sex. i didn't continue taking the pills for the next month and now i'm waiting for my period to come, but i'm experiencing what i think are signs of pregnancy. is it all in my head or can i be pregnant?
