my boyfriend and i try to have sex every once in a while, but he can never penetrate all the way.
my concern is that i've heard you can get pregnant from "pre cum" and i want to know how likely it is for that to happen. he assures me he always stops long before ejaculation, but as a seventeen year old girl with more than a year of high school left, i don't want to take the chance. and i know the first thing everyone wants to tell me is to use a condom, but neither of us know how to put it on. he is uncircumcised and we don't know how to work around that.
quite obviously, we both have no experience so it's rather difficult for us to figure this all out.
please offer suggestions. |

Getting pregnant from pre seminal fluid (pre cum) in my opinion, is debateable. I say the chance is always there. If you read into the research on this, you will see that it is not impossible. The chances rise if your boyfriend has already cum once and you two decide to have at it again. There is still ejaculate left in the ducts from the first time. This will increase your chances of getting pregnant.
Are you a virgin? I can't tell by your post. You won't be pregnant if you are.
May i suggest you get on some birth control. You can go to your local planned parenthood and they will examine you and get you started on the birth control that will suit you. It is confidential and they will work with you financially.
It is great that you are smart enough to realize that you still have school and don't want to make a mistake. This is why i suggested the birth control. Sometimes we can get carried away and we just don't stop. Then we have a problem. |

thanks for your advice. my only concern with birth control is the fact that my parents have to be notified since i am under 18. i've purchased plan b (the morning after pill) just incase i really scare myself, but you don't have to be of age to purchase it. i think parents don't give us enough credit even though we're being responsible about this, and i would hate for my mom and dad to think differently of me because of it. |

Just to ease your mind and give you food for thought. You do not need your parents permission. (DO NOT).
There is a law called HIPA. This law enables people (children) (teens) to go to the Doctor with any kind of medical issue. The Doctor is NOT ALLOWED to disclose any medical information at all to anyone unless the patient signs a consent for a particular person to have access to the patients medical information. i.e. mom, dad, boyfriend, girlfriend, sister etc....
In other words, you can be free to go to your Doctor or Planned Parenthood with no discomfort of thinking that your Md has to call mom to get her ok to treat you or in your case, to get on some birth control.
Look in the phone book in your area and contact your local planned parenthood. They will make you an appointment, no questions asked. The only thing they may ask of you is to provide an emergency contact. This does not have to be mom. It could be your sister or your boyfriend.
You will go in and get your physical. This consists of a vaginal exam. The first time around is not comfortable but it's ok. The Doctor or Practitioner will then discuss your options regarding your birth control. There are several different kinds. My daughter started on the Orth evra, it's a patch that releases hormones into your body to prevent pregnancy. For you, this may not be the answer, as mon will surely see the patch on your hip when you squat down or bend over. The next best thing i think would be the actual pill itself. She now takes YAZ. One pill at the same time each day and you really don't have to worry. You can carry them in your purse, or if you have a snoopy momma, you can hide them some where in your bedroom. For the longest time, my oldest daughter hid her pills in the garage until the dog found them. And she was just about 18 herself at the time. I am just glad that she had the where with all to get on BC in the first place. I wasn't mad at all. Now we are able to discuss sexual issues at any time. It just made us closer.
Mom and Dad do not have to know anything. You are almost an adult, but i sense that your parents opinions really matter to you, and thats good. But sometimes kids (almost adults) have to do what they dfeel is best. You going on the pill is the right thing to do. It would be a lot worse if you got pregnant, then what the outcome be from mom and dad? You prolly don't even want to think about that one!!
So go ahead and do your thing. They will never have to know unless you tell them yourself. |

If your not ready to be a dad, the chances are always there if you continue to have unprotected sex. Just because you pulled out, came and then began to have intercourse again, there is a HUGH chance of pregnancy. There is a tiny amount of sperm in pre cum, but there is a lot more in it if you have already had an orgasm and continued to have sex.
I would be looking for GF's period to show up, she could very well be pregnant depending on what stage her cycle was in.
I strongly suggest some form of birth control. Why should you take chances if you are not ready to be a dad, according to you? Also, if you had intercourse within the past 5 days, the morning after pill is available to you. |

| Seriously, use a condom EVERY TIME. If you're freaked out that you're too young to be a parent, then DO something about it and protect yourself and your partner from that experience. And think about what would be worse: Telling your parents you're on the pill or using condoms, or telling your parents you or your girlfriend got pregnant. At least if they know you're using protection, they'll know that you have the maturity to think about things ahead of time. |
