Please, can somebody tell me is ibuprofen safe for children? I have 3 years old son. When he has a fever I always give him paracetamol. My husband heard that ibuprofen is also useful for that kind of problems. Only I know about this medicament is that it can help when you have painful menstrual cramps.
Of course that ibuprofen is safe for children. Paracetamol and ibuprofen are both recommended for the treatment of fever and acute pain in children. Some people think that ibuprofen is better painkiller then paracetamol. Only it shouldn't be given to babies under 6 months. You need to check, I'm not sure that ibuprofen is suitable for use in children with asthma.
