if effexor xr is a safe drug

my son was dianoised with anxiaty and the doctor put him on effexorxris this a safe and proven drug

I don't know if it's safe for use in children or not. All I know about it is that when I first started taking it I felt great, that was many years ago. I've tried many times to get off the stuff over the years but haven't yet been successful. The withdrawal from this damned drug is unreal. As a mother, knowing what I know now, I would never recommend this for a child. In fact I would be reluctant to give any psychiatric drugs to a child due to what I've discovered about the withdrawal effects of many of them, most especially Effexor.

Try anything else first.
