implano and unprotected sex...good idea?

i have been with my bf for over a year,i have the implanon implant for 5 months and recently we have had unproteced sex and i havent had any spotting or period since.... i took a test and it was negative but i am wondering how safe it isto have unprotected sex while on the implanon.

The implanon is nearly 100% effective as a form of contraception so it is highly unlikely that you are pregnant. You should also be aware of the fact that irregular bleeding is a very common side effect of the implanon implant and therefore you random spotting is normal.
