impotence with a condom on...

my boyfriend and i have recently tried to have sex, we have a lot of foreplay and everything works fine. but once he puts the condom on he loses his erection. i dont think it really is impotence but think its condom phobia. i know i could go on the pill and there are safe ways to have sex without a condom but i would rather use condoms at first. we are both virgins, and theres no risk of stis and stds.

do you have any suggestions on how to stop this problem? any ways to make him less nervous or afraid of condoms? please help!!!!

I'm just guessing, but I think it could be something like performance anxiety (I think its called that). You said that he loses his erection after putting on a condom, so I would have to assume this is right before you decide to have sex. So, maybe it isn't a 'fear' of condoms at all? Also, add to it that you are both virgins, and that just increases the anxiety, maybe? If so, he just needs to relax a bit about the whole thing. You can try to help him do this as well. Maybe that will help.
