imuran (azathioprine) or methotrexate for Bowel disease

Hi, my friend is 46 years old and he is suffering from Bowel disease. Last time when he visited his doctor he told him about dilemma which medication to prescribe him. He was thinking about two medications. One is Imuran and the other is Methotrexate. I would like to know if someone has experience with these medications.

Hi, I am using Imuran for some time and it works pretty well for now. It has many side effects and your friend has to be in contact with her doctor all the time. In spite of this I think that Imuran is better medication anyway because Methotrexate may cause some serious disorders eve life threatening.
