| I have been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis last week and I must admit that I am not thrilled with that at all. I guess I am finally starting to learn what old age means (I am 57 years old). Anyway, I do hope this medication, Imuran, will help me, but doctor also mentioned use of antibiotics, but not for now. What is this connection between Imuran and antibiotics? |

| For now, you do not have anything to worry about. Just take the therapy and see what happens. Some people might develop an infection while using Imuran, and in that case oral antibiotics are used for subduing that infection. But as I said, do not worry for nothing. Imuran should help you, and for the moment, that is all that matters. You will deal with the complications only if they appear. |
