Last month I was on the beach. There I saw a woman who had some lump on her inguinal region. I was surprised, because it looked like a swollen gland, and I don’t know if there are glands in inguinal region too. That makes me interested about that question, so I want to know more about glands in that part of the body.

Of course people have glands in inguinal region too. That position is almost as important as in axillary’s part. Latin term for this group of glands is lymphoglandulae inguinales. Their number consist around twelve to twenty are situated are at the upper part of the femoral triangle. They can be divided in two groups by horizontal line at level of termination of the great saphenous vein. Those lying above this line are termed the superficial inguinal glands. Oppositely, those lying below are sub inguinal glands, the latter group consisting of a superficial and deep set. Chain who took place below the inguinal ligament is formed of superficial inguinal glands. There finishes lymphatic vessels from penis, scrotum, perineum, buttock, and abdominal wall. Superficial sub inguinal glands placed on either side of upper part of great saphenous vein. They receive lymphatic vessels from lower extremity, and also same such as superficial inguinal.
