Is YAZ safe for women who do NOT have PMDD???
I was having trouble with ZOVIA because it causes migraines around my period time. I'm supposed to start YAZ but I'm concerned about what some women have complained about as having rollercoaster mood swings on it. They weren't even told it's used many times for PMDD. My doc didn't let me know that either. Just who is supposed to use YAZ?
Side note: I take Wellbutrin for anxiety and mild depression for the past 6 years. I am happy with the results. Will YAZ interact or interfere with my Wellbutrin? |

| No, from what I read. You shouldn't be taken any form of anti-depression while on YAZ.. I am faced with the same problem. I used to take wellbutrin and I haven't yet started YAZ. I need to start taking both a birth control and go back on my anti-depression meds. Also make sure to ask your doctor about the dose of the birth control, Since many depression meds lower the how well your birth control will work. Hope that helps. |

| Be cautious when using Yaz. I was on it for about 7 months and somehow, it was overlooked that it had caused hypertriclyceridemia. My triglycerides were over 900% where they should have been and could have killed me. My former gynecologist doesn't agree that Yaz was the cause, but the last three, including specialist. When I discontinued it, within 3 weeks my triglycerides had dropped from 1385 to 267, still high, but going down rapidly. (Normal is somewhere around 50) The incert does have cautions for people with high cholesterol, but I don't have high cholesterol, never have and it nearly killed me. Just be aware and ask questions and keep track of things. |

Both my parents are gyno's and I have PMDD and they have informed me that Yaz is moreso for women experiencing pmdd or menopause. The drug was produced to help moderate severe PMS so taking it without having such disorders could result in very negative reactions to the hormones. |
