is adderall prescribed for adults as well children

I want to know if Adderall is prescribed for adults as well children. It has been favorite treatment of ADHD in children according to my research. There is no much data about adult use of Addreall. Since it has been potentially addictive drug I guess that it has been abused by adults.

It has been prescribed to adults. Adderall generally should not be used in children or adults with structural cardiac abnormalities. It is contraindicated in patients with symptomatic cardiovascular disease, moderate to severe hypertension, hyperthyroidism and glaucoma, known hypersensitivity to this class of compounds, agitated states, history of drug abuse, or current or recent use of MAO inhibitors. Abuse of amphetamines like Adderall may lead to dependence.
