It is advisable to have a full gynecological exam and a pap smear a few weeks (two to three)f ollowing abortion.
If you undergo the surgery (abortion) at Planned Parenthood, a gyn exam and a pap smear are free for the first three weeks following abortion. If you wait longer than 3 weeks you will probably have to pay around $50 to be examined.
