First thing you need to do is consult a doctor and find an underlying cause of gynecomastia. You may not need a surgical procedure if the underlying problem is found and treated or the problem may disappear spontaneously after some time.
For example, if you have problems with lower testosterone levels, all you may need is a testosterone therapy.
In case, there are excessive amounts of female hormones, you may receive drugs like anti-estrogen and experience breast reduction.
If the breasts appeared due to weight gain, all you have to do would be to lose weight.
However, sometimes gynecomastia persists even after these initial treatments.
In those cases and in cases when the reason is not known, a person may have to undergo a surgery to remove the excess tissue from the breasts.
A patient may undergo a scalpel surgery or liposuction. There is no laser surgery for gynecomastia. |
