is there something like fruit diet?

I heard from my friend about fruit diet, she is practicing it for some time and she told me it is not so easy to deal with it. She mentioned that she felt weak for several times and that hunger is sometime so strong that she can't stand it.
I would like to know if this kind of diet is healthy or if it may cause some health problems to me.

Hi, as your friend already told you fruit diet is sometimes very hard especially for people who have already formed some eating habits with red meat and great caloric intake.
Fruit diet is low fat diet and low calorie diet. One of main reasons why people decide for such diet is detoxication which this diet provides. As vitamin C is very strong detoxication element it is easy to understand what kind of diet this is.
Fruit is also very rich with fibers so it has laxative purpose too.
