for the last 3 weeks i have noticed a hard painless lump on the back of my head right hand side just above the hair line it is itchy sometimes.about 5 weeks ago i had a virus.i feel i have recovered but still sometimes experience a sore throat and deafness in one ear.i am worried it could be something horrible as any unusual lump is a bit of a worry or am i over reacting.any ideas what this could be?

It does sound like a swollen lymph node, most likely caused by an ear infection. However, it could be something totally different. You should probably see a doctor.
