I had this problem in Oct 2006 started out almost like a strep throat both glands in my neck swollen up ! i was tired sleepy and moody ... few weeks went by it went away 1 gland went down but the other gland expanded 1 1/2 time it size it Dec 2006 now and i lived with this pain everyday went to the Doctors had a check up gave me 1 week of Antibiotics but the pain never went away... the neck gland still swollen everyday I wake up feels like i got hit by a Truck! the pain tooooo painful Jagged pains when i swollow my food,water,pop, coffee, beer anything i swollow hurts ! has anyone experince this ... because I'm starting to think this is turning into a very bad thing that happening in my life ... nobody should have live with this

going on my 4th week of severe agonizing throat pain. it goes from one side to the other now and it has kept me up at night and will not go away.
advil is the only thing that helps. i had to insist my dr do a mono test on me it was negative but there is something going on with my throat. i am going to say it is viral because i have 2 kids and they have not come down with it.
i am going to the er tommorrow while the left tonsil and gland is so large.
