I was told to stop taking birth control pills due to my health a week ago. I had my period just a week before getting off of them and now i have it again. is this normal?

Yes this is normal, in fact the same thing happened to me only in my case 3 days later. When you take birth control pills, your body no longer makes its own 'reproductive hormones' they are synthetic (fake) and produced and regulated by the pill. When you stop taking the pills, there are no hormones, therefore throwing your body into 'period mode' because the level or 'regulation' hormone abruptly disappeared. It will take a little while (probably a month or 2) for your body to readjust and your peroids will then become regular or normal for you. Hope this helps!!
