Just the two previous generations on my mother’s side, I too was diagnosed with polycystic kidney disease. For the time being, I don’t suffer from many symptoms but I have developed high blood pressure. My mom told me that other organs can get infected by PKD. I am interested in which ones? Thank you

Polycystic kidney disease can get pretty nasty if it affects the brain for example. If this happens, thee is a possibility of aneurysm, which causes blood vessel to bulge and possibly even rupture. I have developed liver cysts but they are not causing me any problems. I have also developed hypertension, which I am successfully treating with drugs. PKD can also affect the heart, intestines, pancreas, ovaries and spleen, so watch for any unusual symptoms and have yourself checked regularly.
