knot/ lump in lower left abdomen

i have had this weird lump/knot thing in my stomach, near my hip, above my ovary, for about 4 years....it just kinda pops up every now and then...maybe related to gas?....its the same size, the same shape, almost egg shaped i guess, and almost the same size as one....very strange...
