How long does it take for lamactil to work if it is going to? I am taking it for depression- may be bipolar type 2- I have never had any manic behaviors- it's just that once the depression started it kept getting worse and worse. My first psych. put me on Seroquel which helped me sleep at night but also knocked me out during the day.

I am ready to start feeling better and I hope this does it. Any help on when I can expect to demonstrate some positive changes if this is the right drug for me would be welcome.

My my mom was diagnosed with an incurable disease and my dad was on lamictyl and other drugs, KAVA KAVA was the calming agent for my wife and I. Ask your doctor is just an eye dropper full would be good for a calming agent for anyone suffering panic attacks.

I know with my wife that taking Layictal at just upped 50 mgs are making her shake violently, like she was freezing cold. My thinking is this, since she just got on it and was recenly upped from 25 mg to 50 mg a day or so ago, drop down to 25 mg..... to contral the negative side effects.

Sometime one has to put there foot down especially if one is with there mate most of the time and can see the bad side effects and can control there thought prosesses (sic) better....

My son that is 13 years old is diagnosed with seizures. His doctor prescribed him Lamictal, but I have heard something that worried me. There were reported serious rashes that required hospitalization and discontinuation of treatment with the use of Lamictal. I want to know more about this medication because my son uses it. Also I need to know if I should expect withdrawal reactions if we decide stop using this drug.

tiffany- i took lamictal for 1 month then i stopped taking it cold turkey. i was fine the next day then when the second day came i was dizzy i couldnt stand up without feeling like i was going to pass out. then all of a sudden i felt like my head was going to explode i started having diareah i couldnt eat, everytime i put something to my mouth i would throw it up or get sick to my stomach. the next day i got cold chills and all different temps of fevers i was bed bound i couldnt get up to take a shower, because everytime i would move it felt like my worl was spinning. i constantly felt like i was drunk and couldnt do anything about it my emotions was sky high i was constantly crying having anxiety attacks, i contantly felt like i was dieing for a month and a half i lost 10 pounds is such a short period of time. it was hell for me my phsyciatrist didnt even want to tell me if i was experiencing withdrawls or not. so my advice is to slowly take someone of this medicine under a doctors care!
