I just had kidney cancer surgery last November and was feeling pretty much back to normal after about 4 to 5 weeks. My right kidney plus some fatty tissue was removed, the tumor came out through the kidney. I was one of the lucky ones, no chemo or radiation and the pathology report came back clean (including the fatty tissue.) I go in next month for my 6 month check up. I am now having some slight cramping where the kidney used to be, hopefully it is a phantom kidney cramping. I will find out soon enough. My best to you and my prayers are with you. Kidney cancer is more common in men, but I am a female and still got it, it was found accidently in an ultra sound looking for something else.
