I can relate to your TKR issues. I am a 46 y/o female. Always very active. I had a left TKR on 6/15/2006. The knee kept snapping backwards and upopn being discarged from the hospital the surgeon told me he thinks he placed the wrong spacer in my knee. 7 weeks later, after much pain and swelling, he went in again and placed a new spacer and also a patella. The knee never got better. 4 months of PT and I continued to limp. I never felt the knee was right. I developed sciatica down my left leg in October 2006 and needed an L5-S1 discectomy by November 2006 due to a ruptured disc. By Dec. 2006 I again saw my knee surgeon who took fluid out of the knee and gave me a steroid shot. That lasted 20 days. I then saw another surgeon in Jan. 2007 and he told me my ligaments were nevered balanced correctly. On April 23, 2007 I had the joint removed and another put in with ligament work. The lateral ligaments were in very poor condition. I am 5 weeks out. The knee is still loose. The 2nd surgeon told me my knee was in bad shape and no guarantees. I am very frustrated. I never had ligament problems. I can identify with your nightmare. Please write and let me know how you are doing.
